Gyan, after a botched move to English championship side Reading FC, successfully completed his medical with the sworn rivals of former club Al Ain on transfer deadline Wednesday.
The 30-year-old has returned to the UAE, on a one-year loan deal, just 12 months after signing from Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG.
The ex-Sunderland forward replaces Moussa Sow, who has rejoined Turkish side Fenerbahce.
Speaking after completing his loan move a delighted Gyan said he is “now back home.”
“It’s a new challenge for me. Al Ahli is also a big club with good fans…
“I hope everything will be fine. I’m here to start a new challenge. They know what I can do but I don’t dwell in the past now.
“I’m looking forward to start work, do well for the club and make sure that the league is exciting as everybody wants,” Gyan stated.
