Suspected Robber Dozes Off Robbing A Pastor!

A robber has been arrested by the Police in Asamankese in the Eastern region after he was caught fast asleep on the matrimonial bed of a Seventh Day Adventist Church pastor after a burglary.


The suspect, 27, was found half naked and deeply asleep after breaking into the home of one Pastor Asare Nyarko and family.

He allegedly made his way into the house through the ceiling.

Narrating the incident, Pastor Asare Nyarko explained that the incident occurred Sunday dawn when he and his family had left for Church.

According to him, upon their return home, they realized all lights outside the house had been put off.

The Pastor said that out of curiosity they noticed their house had been broken into.

He said they quickly dashed to the Police Station to report the incident. However, the Police were not available to escort the couple home but was advised to take pictures of the burglary for evidence to lodge official complaints later at the Police Station.

Pastor Asare mentioned that upon cautious entry to the rooms with some Elders of the Church, the suspect was found deeply asleep on the bedroom.

“When we got closer we realized that the bulb that was in the corridor has been removed and the meter had been closed. That gave us the hint that someone has entered the house again so we entered the house with caution.

“We looked at the rooms – the first two rooms were intact so my wife was heading for our bedroom when she noticed someone in my room,” he told Eastern regional correspondent Kojo Ansah.

“All the Elders and I opened and this guy was seriously fast asleep on my bed and not even the noise of seven of us woke him up. We had to shake him before he woke up so we sent him to the police station.”

The suspect had apparently returned to the house after a successful first operation but this time, unfortunately slept off.

The suspect, during interrogation, told the Police that after the first entry when he took away some properties, went to smoke marijuana for more energy to climb through the ceiling to continue his mission.
