Ghana international Kwadwo Asamoah is back to the treatment table with yet another injury setback on Saturday.
The midfielder ruptured the meniscus cartilage in his right knee while featuring for club side Juventus in their 1-0 win on the road at Palermo in the Italian Serie A.
The former Asokwa Deportivo trainee is “anticipated to return within around 45 days”, Juventus announced Sunday.
Kwadwo Asamoah, after a long stay out of international football due to injuries, is thus effectively out of contention for a return to the Black Stars as coach Avram Grant gets ready to announce his squad for next month’s 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying match at home to Uganda.
He was highly tipped for a return after a strong start to the ongoing 2016/17 season.
