Some followers and loyalists of the ruling National Democratic Congress have told the media they have taken a strong cue from the Montie case, pledging never to make inflammatory comments likely to land them in a similar predicament.
On July 27, the Supreme Court sentenced Alistair Nelson, Godwin Ako Gunn and Salifu Maase to a four-month jail term for scandalizing the highest court of the land in their utterances on a political program on Accra-based Montie FM.
They have however been released from the Akuse prisons today, one month since going into custody, on grounds of a remission of sentence by President John Mahama.
At a ceremony to welcome the three ex-convicts, the supporters promised not to take advantage of President Mahama as their party leader to misbehave.
